Reduce your shore-to-ship telex communication cost using StratosMail
Telex is an older technological way of text messaging between office and vessels, but still widely used in maritime industry. Stratos was first to provide e-mail over Inmarsat-C since 1995 and nowadays it has further developed this service in order to integrate shore-to-ship and ship-to-shore communications. StratosMail allows registered shoreside customers around the world to exchange messages with Inmarsat A/B Telex or Inmarsat C through Internet e-mail. Messaging from the vessel is as simple as sending a Telex; any existing Inmarsat-A/B Telex or Inmarsat C terminal can send and receive messages to and from Internet e-mail addresses onshore. Regardless of which direction the message travels -- from the vessel or to the vessel -- StratosMail delivers one low price per service.
Internet e-mail replaces expensive, slow and antiquated telex lines between shore premises and LESOs. Further savings are available from the vessel in the form of free multiple delivery (or carbon copies) of individual messages to Internet e-mail addresses on shore. We must also point out that confirmation (PDN) and Negative Delivery Notifications (NDN) are free of charge for shore-to-ship messages. For ship-to-shore messages, Non-delivery notifications to the vessel are automatically generated, with positive delivery notifications available upon request.
